Information BIGame.eu

Running the BIGame always goes in co-operation with a certified facilitator.

How is the simulation run

Since the simulation is based on a web-based application it can be run on multiple locations, in a wide span of time and even multilingual.
Of course it can be run with a “closed” group of participants in a workshop environment and restricted timeslot as well. Specifically to train in-company this is a god approach. But also this simulation can be run with groups spread over different locations (world wide if you choose so) in a longer period of time (e.g. running parallel with a project) and with participant that may be speak different languages.
The only requirements are: a certified facilitator that supports and debriefs the teams, a computer and printer and Internet Access.

Game co-ordination by the customer

When this simulation is executed it is advised to allocate a “game co-ordinator”. This representative (possibly of your own organisation) will in close co-operation with the facilitator organise the planning and infrastructure for the game. The co-ordinator can enter the participants and teams into the system. During the game the co-ordinator manages the logistics of the game and prepares action where applicable.

Options of the BIGame

There is a choice of Profit and Not-for-Profit version in the simulation.

The simulation itself

After an introduction of the theoretical framework by the facilitator the actual simulatin can start. Teams are defined and get time to make themselves familiar with the potential actions and rules of the game (reading time 45 minutes up to 1 hour to be decide by the facilitator). Each team defines and represents a virtual organisation of choice (the teams are completely free to choose their organisation!). With this organisation they compete with the other team (other organisations).
The teams set vison, mission, goals and strategy for their organisation and than manage this organisation for an agreed period of time (one up to five years, split in quarters).
Each quarter the teams choose actions to run their organisation from a set of 130+ actions available. The results are expressed in a shareholdervalue (or resultindex for not-for-profit) and a quality index (average and detailed) based on the INK-managementmodel.
After each quarter (with a delay of one quarter) the effects of the actions are made available to the teams in 1. a graphical overview (in which they can also see information of the other teams) and 2. a detailed overview of their own actions and the effects thereof.
The facilitator will during the simulation explain the results and give feedback to the teams. Further the facilitator has access to additional information and reporting that enables him or her to support the teams e.g. with information on their energy spent as well as of their approaches shown (based on the management drives they apply).
